Mr. Heinsman joined the firm in 2009 and has served as project engineer on several multi-story, multi-family wood frame projects. Mr. Heinsman’s prior experience includes 24 years in the structural wood component industry, 17 of which were as a Design Department Manager. While in the wood component industry he served on the committee developing the ANSI/TPI-1 Wood Truss Design Standard. As a member of The Structural Building Components Association’s Engineering and Technology Committee, he helped develop the Building Components Safety Information (BCSI) publication and SBCA’s “The Load Guide”. Mr. Heinsman has also been very involved in serving on state building commission committees developing Indiana’s Building Codes focusing primarily on the Indiana Residential Code. As part of his Building Code involvement, he has taught seminars for both the Indiana Association of Building Officials and the Indiana Builders Association. Mr. Heinsman’s experience as a manager and his problem solving skills give him the ability to produce quality building structure designs that are economical, code-compliant, and readily constructible.
